Jumping on the Bandwagon...

...another attack on Mormons.

On Tuesday the Santa Monica Daily Press published this inflammatory column by David Pissara.

Read the fourth page of the article found at the link below, "Mormon Maneuver"
http://www.smdp.com/site/archives/102108.pdf

I have yet to see such a perfect example of the pot calling the kettle black!

I am so enraged I sent the paper an email expressing my distaste. If you are so inclined, email editor@smdp.com and cc dpisarra@pisarra.com as well.

You know I don't have a problem with someone disagreeing with my beliefs but when you go around ranting about my beliefs (when you obviously don't understand them) that kind of bothers me. He ought to do a little more research and he'll find that there are probably several million Californians who aren't Mormon who will be voting Yes.

Hahahahahahahaaa.

I don't want some repressed white male .. hahahahahahahaa.

I actually really enjoyed reading that article.
Even though I understand it was a bit stretched (but hey. who is to say the prop eight idea isn't either?) I was entertained.

And I hope the mormon community understands it's just people fed up with this force of religion stuff.

By the way, I got my lovely mormon phone call today asking what I was voting on prop eight. Nobody enjoys these kinds of phone calls, just so you know..

THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR POSTING THIS!!

I got all my California friends to write letters. It's very embarrassing for that newspaper. My freshman could right better arguments FOR prop No than that guy! Even though most of them would vote yes on the proposition.

I'm pretty sure the L.A times would refuse to publish a similar article about Catholics, Jews, Protestants, blacks, and most every other organization, religion or race and yet it's applauded when it's about Mormons. Wow.

Second, I've had countless people (undecided, likely voting no, and yes voters) who have thanked me for the calls. Californians appreciate involved citizens and we (just not Mormons) are making a positive difference.

I think it's very interesting that the Mormons get all the blame for supporting YES on 8. The radio commercials are sponsored by the Knights of Columbus, the local Saddleback Church pastor has put out a video statement supporting Prop 8, the list of churches donating money and supporting this cause is HUGE yet "the Mormons" are always singled out. The man needs to get his facts straight before he writes these articles as well. I don't remember anyone telling me that sex was just for procreation and that birth control was banned (he has the wrong church on that one but I won't name the church that DOES teach that) and if it is then I guess I'm going to hell!! Oh well you can't reason with ignorance I suppose.
